Youth Cyber Safety Book Program
The Polson Police Foundation has developed a three-book Youth Cyber Safety Program to help local students learn how to stay safe, responsible, and confident online.
Three Books, One Continuing Program
Each book is designed for a specific stage in a student’s education. Together, they create a continuing cyber-safety education program that grows with students instead of relying on a single lesson that may quickly be forgotten.
First Grade
Introduces basic online-safety habits in a simple, age-appropriate way.
Sixth Grade
Addresses the growing online risks students encounter as they become more independent with phones, games, social media, and messaging.
High-School Freshmen
Focuses on responsible decision-making, digital footprints, privacy, online relationships, scams, and the real-world consequences of online behavior.
The first-grade book is given out alongside Officer Quackers at select community events.
Fully Funded by a Grant
The Polson Police Foundation has received a grant to fully fund the books for the school program. With the final book now completed, we are preparing to work with local educators and law-enforcement officers to bring this important program into Polson schools.
Prevention Before a Threat
Technology is now part of nearly every child’s life. Our goal is to give students practical knowledge before they face an online threat.
A Trusted Adult to Turn To
Alongside practical knowledge, the program encourages students to speak with a trusted adult when something online feels unsafe or wrong.
